No In-Person Member Meals, But I Guess Thats A Good Thing??

Image
Lil run down of this lovely week in Cipolletti - had food poisoning and couldnt eat a solid meal for 3 days - walked alot, again - had a baptism, my first!! - transfer news.. im staying in Cipolletti and getting a new companion from Ecuador:) This title, fuauu! So, we get lunches from members most days. Some days we pick up the food from their house and other days they just buy us food from a restaurant near out apartment, but in my first transfer in my mission we have only had 3 in person lunches. We got some food from a member this week and lucky us-- we got food poisoning. It was rough, and we still can barely eat food. Hurray for white rice without salt. Heavenly Father really did give me the strength I needed to walk this week, cause I definitly didnt get strength from food Other than that we had a baptism and her name is Gisela! The spirit was so strong, but honestly it was hard because we dont have a lot of member support in our ward. There were 12 people who came to the baptism...

I'm Dreaming Of A White Christmas

It rained, it poured, it rained some more. And then it snowed. Yup. Its summer for yall but it is very much winter for me and the rest of la gente here in Argentina. This week was cold, and as I am writing this email I am looking out of our window(we live in the 8th floor of an apartment building) all I can see is fog. The poor weather made it harder to work but we pushed through.   Had my first (multi)zone conference this week in Roca and it was great to get to know other missionaries! For those of you new to mission lingo- each companionship of missionaries has an area that they cover. Every couple "areas" is a "district", and every couple "districts" is a "zone"! Zone conference is when we all gather at one church building and spend the morning(or day in our case) together!  We had exchanges! This is when missionaries who are leaders over a zone come to a different area and we switch companions for the day. Hermana Orme and I stayed in our are...

(Sh)Yankee Go Home

- "yankee go home" ×1 - "You caused the pandemic" ×1 - Doors/Windows shut on us without saying anything 3+ - "Your castellano is good!" ×2 So those are a few things that were said this week, life as a missionary is so interesting yall, I love it! This week me and Hermana Orme ate empanadas from a member that we should not have eaten.. lets just say the preparation and cooking of said empanadas was NOT sanitary. We suffered for a little bit. This week I also had the pleasure of "riding"(squating) in the back of a van, while basically off-roading for about 20 minutes:) lets just say my knees were a little sore after that hahah. Seriously though, Yall. We had SO. MANY. MIRACLES. We met the kids of a person we are teaching, got to go into their house to teach a lesson(#poderdemate) and they came to our english class(at the church), a BAPTISM(also in the church) and then they came to BOTH hours of church!! Tears were shed when they walked into the chu...

A few funny things: - so many jehovahs witnesses here HAHA - people say chao all the time(I am in an italian city I guess?) - a man in the central area of cipolletti started talking to me and my comps were talking to someone else and I had NO clue what this man was saying I just kept saying "claro" and "no se" to the questions Moroni 7:37  "Behold I say unto you, Nay; for it is by faith that miracles are wrought; and it is by faith that angels appear and minister unto men; wherefore, if these things have ceased wo be unto the children of men, for it is because of unbelief, and all is vain" This week was a week of miracles:) on tuesday one of my companions wanted to go into a specific panaderia(bakery). We didnt go in the morning but we ended up going in the afternoon/evening. When we walked in the only person who was working asked if we were people from a church and we explained our purpose as missionaries and a little bit about the church. She shared that...
