I'm Dreaming Of A White Christmas

It rained, it poured, it rained some more. And then it snowed. Yup. Its summer for yall but it is very much winter for me and the rest of la gente here in Argentina. This week was cold, and as I am writing this email I am looking out of our window(we live in the 8th floor of an apartment building) all I can see is fog. The poor weather made it harder to work but we pushed through.

Had my first (multi)zone conference this week in Roca and it was great to get to know other missionaries! For those of you new to mission lingo- each companionship of missionaries has an area that they cover. Every couple "areas" is a "district", and every couple "districts" is a "zone"! Zone conference is when we all gather at one church building and spend the morning(or day in our case) together!

We had exchanges! This is when missionaries who are leaders over a zone come to a different area and we switch companions for the day. Hermana Orme and I stayed in our area and worked with Hermana Mendoza while Hermana Gomez got to work in a different area for the day. It was a party

On a serious note, this week was hard. I read a LOT of scriptures, said even more prayers, and turned to my companions for advice. Satan is attacking my mind out here. My mind was flooded with thoughts of inadequecy, lack of knowledge and overall weakness. When I say i've been fighting my inner demons this week, I mean it. A scripture that helped me a lot is:

Mosiah 7:33-
"But if ye will turn to the Lord with full purpose of heart, and put your trust in him, and serve him with all diligence of mind, if ye do this, he will, according to his own will and pleasure, deliver you out of bondage."

I know that when I am feeling my worst are the times the Lord is with me the most. On the days this week that I didnt want to put on a smile and talk to people I dont know in a language I only half know, he carried me out my door and through the streets of Cipolletti. He is there for me, and he is there for you. When looking back on your life remember that during the hardest times, when you only see one pair of footprints in the sand, the savior did not abandon you: he carried you. He lives and is the light of the world. He is the light in the darkest moments in my life, and he is your light too.

I love you all and I want you all to have this light in your life!! I hope you guys had a great week, and if not, I hope this week is better:)

Soak up the sunshine for me,
Hermana Carden
