80 Degrees And A Chance That Your Friend Runs From The Police

Image
What a week! I am feeling better, I still cant eat on one side of my mouth but so much better!  First the title... we went to visit a friend and noticed when he opened his door he had an ankle monitor(maybe he wants to change?) There wasnt any problem until a cop car with lights on pulled up to his house and he ran. We also left. Later we saw another car cop, motor-cop, and bicycle-cop all going full speed, in the direction of our friends house with their lights on telling people to get out of the way. Anywaysss this week was awesome! We helped 2 more people put goals for a date to be baptized. We worked hard, had amazing lunches with members, and a few of our friends came to church yesterday! I love this work, and I am so grateful that God is putting the people in our path that really are ready to hear our message. I shared this quote with a family at lunch this week:  "God knows that some of the greatest souls who have ever lived are those who will never appear in the chroni...

Guess Who's Sick...Again

Yup you heard it here first folks! Hna carden is sick again, this time with an infection in her jaw. I woke up on saturday morning with a 101 fever, pain on the whole right side of my face, and a call from the dentist that told me I cant chew on the right side of my mouth for a week and have to take antibiotics, and if im lucky, see a dentist in argentina(they dont fix problems, they just remove teeth ) For other news this week!  - said a lot of sad goodbyes to the amazing members in El Bolson. Really was the best area of the whole mission. - traveled with 7 other missionaries to neuque - got to plottier and on my first day it was 104° between 3-6pm Wow yall, im gonna be completely honest, the past few days I have had such a high fever and have been in so much pain. But God knew this was gonna happen so he helped us find 7 new people, and put someone on a date to be baptized all on friday afternoon. We also had 3 different people see us walking by through their window and they came...

New Beginnings!

We went to Esquel for a few days for a missionary conference and exchanges! Exchanges is when I change companions for the day. I was with hermana Molina the first day (she is from the mission my brother served in, in brazil), and then hermana Affleck the second day!(her dad is in the tabernacle choir). I then said goodbye to all my good friends in esquel and trevelin. so sad.  We worked hard this week, but one experience that will stay with me for awhile is on friday I prayed in the morning that we would run into one of our friends that lives in Lago Puelo during the day. She had recently told us she started working on the main avenue of Bolsón(Av. San Martin) giving parking citations between 4-7pm. Well, as we left the house of a member that lives on San Martin, our friend was putting a parking citation on a motorcycle. God answers our prayers, especially when we show consistency! I have been praying to run into her every day since she started her job 2 weeks ago. For other news, ...

YOU ARE NEVER ALONE!

welcome to part im not even sure of my missionary rollercoaster. this week just felt straight downhill but eventually the rollercoaster will go back up!   I just wanted to share with you all that no matter how alone, desperate or insufficient you feel, christ is there for you. he paid the price. if you feel happy, strong and motivated, humble yourself (and give all the thanks to god!) but also remember that christ is also with you too.  I read a talk this week and a quote I loved from it said, "true stability comes from faith in our savior, Jesus Christ." John 17:3 "And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent."  So, my mission hasnt been a rollercoaster. In reality, it has been the most stable time of my life. My faith has carried me through the hard companions, sickness and the moments I was the happiest and felt the spirit the most. let your faith carry you too. Once you do that, you will truly find ...
