"Thank you. I dont know what you did but she needed you as a companion, you changed her eternities and for that, they are grateful." - my mission president    We had some good lessons this week, walked a ton, and had interviews with our mission president! My companion had her interview before mine and when I walked into the room this is the first thing my president said:) yall, its so worth it to be nice, patient, and loving to people! I was crying happy tears after he said this. I had been struggle with my companion but it was all for the better!   We had 2 of our friends come to church yesterday, and this was a miracle! This was the first time one of our friends had come to church in 2 months.   Other things happened in our area but are pretty sad so I am not going to share them on this email.   I love you all so much and today especially I would love to hear something happy from you all. I appreciate the emails and the updates, they help more than you can ima...

- intercambios with hermana jones!! We went to Fernandez Oro and walked a ton, but so fun being 2 yankees in Argentina:)   - mothers day activity!! Friday night was packed full of dancing, laughing and smiles!! It was a surprise activity for all the women in the ward and they couldnt have been happier!   - presidential elections were yesterday so they told us we had to stay in our houses for safety. Nothing happened and we arent sure who won, but they told us that after the last election there was a country-wide looting of every supermarket   - starting fresh this week! Both of the people that had dates to be baptized fell through and told us they were on their own path and didnt want us. This was SO hard because now we really only have one person progressing in our area:(   - miracles according to our faith! The person that is progressing is named Mercedes!! The elders gave her a blessing of health for her leg and she called us 3 days later and told us, "Chicas!! La...

Marry An Educated Argentinian

Image
Fua!!! This week was transfers but I stayed in the same area with the same comp so we just worked a lot. Some things this week:   - the same dog tried to attack me 3 times - a different dog almost bit me - visited an inactive member and she told me after my mission I need to come back to argentina and marry one of her grandsons, but also that I need to marry someone educated - one of our friends gifted me a lavender plant to grow on my own, im so happy - the same member told me I have 14 months to keep my eyes open for my "options" in argentina HAHA - said goodbye to some really awesome people this week   Honestly this week was so hard for me and my mission president called me to make sure I was ok! He gave me some really good advice but honestly im just tired. I have found a new meaning to "the Lord is my strength" because he gave me the strength I needed everyday. I hardcore studied the Atonement this week and I learned that really it means nothing if we just acko...

"The Savior was[is] 'A strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat'(Isaiah 25:4)"    "In me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world"(John 16:33)   This week I focused on accessing the comforting, "peace of mind" and "healing of body and spirit" power of the Atonement of Jesus Christ. I have been sick for about 2 weeks now, and so stressed with my area still! We got transfer news and I found out I will be in Cipolletti with my companion for another 6 weeks, you can ask my mom how I feel about that! Definitly going to be relying on the Savior the next month and a half. I hope these scriptures brought you guys a little comfort, cause they just about saved my week. He was my shadow in the heat, the aloe-vera to my sunburnt soul, and the literally air in my lungs when I couldnt breath at night due to my allergies. Yall, I really am s...

UNA BANDA DE AMOR

"And when they pass to the other side of the veil and draw close to that loving “gravitational pull” of their heavenly home, I believe it will feel familiar because of how they were loved here."   I was reading a general conference talk from this past conference in the saturday night session and when I read this quote I thought of Aunt Andrea, and I remembered that night in Alaska when we couldnt sleep, couldnt bear, couldnt comprehend, that she might pass away, and you said, "I wish I had said kinder things to her when we were kids". Mom, you loved her. You showed that love. You SHOW that love to me and our family every single day. I know that andrea felt that familiar feeling when she made it to our heavenly home. I know this for a fact. You are trying your hardest and we see that. Your works are sufficient, and if at any moment you dont feel that, remember who we have at our side as I like to teach the kids, Jesus Christ is going to help us make a "perfect h...

Broken Heart And A Contrite Spirit

Image
The Lord asks us to come to him with a Broken Heart and a contrite spirit, and I can tell you all now that when you pray sincerely with these two things the lord will answer your prayers. My heart felt broken the past few days as I thought about my brother being home with my family, but it was filled with joy because I have such an amazing family to miss! The mission president's wife told me that this would probably be the hardest day of my mission, and I agreed. To be completely honest, I couldn't stop crying all day on Saturday and Sunday morning. But with this sadness I know that I will be able to more fully feel the Love of Christ and the Joy he brings to our llives. This past weekend was the hardest part of my mission so far, but I have also never felt so comforted so fast. The lord knows you and he loves you!!   Now for a funny note: - One of our friends told my companion that she doesnt need a chair cause she is close enough to the ground(height joke) - A man literally t...
