I Can Get Married Now!!!

Image
What a week! It went by so fast but so slow at the same time. First off to address the title of my email-- its a saying here(and maybe all over the world?) That once you know how to cook you can get married. This week I had the opportunity to cook lunch for members and then made pancakes for our friends that came to church! Safe to say I am now known as a chef in our ward and can get married. on a sad note... our friend decided not to get baptized on saturday. My sister training leader and I had a lesson with her on tuesday, we testified, the spirit was TANGIBLE, and we cried a little, but she still said no. Nothing is keeping her from being baptized but her own pride. Please dont be like this friend. Apply the teachings we can learn from the people in the Book of Mormon. As soon as we left her house we both started balling(te amo hna febres) and thankfully she was the last lesson we had planned for the day, because we cried the whole walk home. It was in the home of this woman that I ...

An Extra Long One

" Amazing grace how sweet the sound That saved a wretch like me I once was lost, but now I'm found Was blind but now I see 'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear And grace my fears relieved How precious did that grace appear The hour I first believed Through many dangers, toils, and snares I have already come This grace that brought me safe thus far And grace will lead me home When we've been here ten thousand years Bright, shining as the sun We've no less days to sing God's praise Than when we first begun Amazing grace how sweet the sound That saved a wretch like me I once was lost, but now I'm found Was blind but now I see." "Grace is not only necessary to cleanse us, but also to  perfect  us... We must do all we can, and when we have reached our limits, when we have asserted all our mental, moral, and spitirual energies, then the powers of heaven will intervene." -Tad R. Callister Oh how amazing is His grace! Without this magnificent gif...

April Showers Bring May Flow--Winter

We've had a rainy few days here in plottier, and I am loving it! Rain is my favorite weather. Except I have now come to realize that none of my jackets are water resistant. Neither is my umbrella   Anywayyyyyss! Started off the week with an exchange so I went over to the other side of Plottier for a day and was with Hermana Febres, I love her! We saw so many miracles    A woman who has been coming to church for awhile accepted a baptismal date! Pray for Claudia, her baptism is going to be on the 27th. We are also teaching a 14 year old named Tobias. He wants to get baptized so bad, but his mom wont let him. Pray for him too!!   Random: • my companion barks at dogs?? • "you only have one real love in your life, and ive already had mine!" - claudia after taking about her husband who passed away 2 years ago • RAN to a members house with hna febres so that we wouldnt get robbed • visited a 74 year old convert who lives with a jehovahs witness and I ate  10 ...

Haircut + 10

Ok! This week: Interviews  with my mission president, he told me I need to be a turtle and not let anything my companion says offend me. This week was difficult, but this mindset has made it better. With that being said, I love my companion! She is amazing missionary, just sometimes she is very direct and I have a very sensitive heart Zone council!  We talked about helping other people feel the light of christ. Every human born with the light of christ in them, and its our job to help them recognize it and feel it again! We also played chair soccer with 28 people. For those of you who know what chair soccer is, I was first place looser, still impressive with 20 elders in a zone CONFERENCE! Well we were all hoping for a temple in Neuquen or in the southern part of argentina but that didnt happen:( its ok! More work to do. I came into this conference with questions and all of my questions were answered, so specifically.  If you havent watched conference, watch it today. The...

No Power Equals Showering With A Flashlight, Not A Real Light

We didnt have power for 2 days this week, you really dont appreciate something until its gone; especially washing clothing, having a funcioning fridge, and showering with light   The week in a recap:   The not so happy: ive cried every night since hermana baker left for those who wanted to know, I miss her so much! Its also been hard ajusting to a new companion, someone with different habits, and learning how to take almost constant critisism   Miracle: Our friends Rosana and Marcelo came to church! We met with them on saturday night and answered some of the questions that they had(they have a lot). Rosana loved the easter meeting we had and ending up seeing old friends that are members of the church. Another small miracle is that ive had patience the past few days. The small things are miracles too Spiritual thought: I have been reading Doctrine and Covenants this week. It has helped my testimony grow of the restauration of the gospel and how obedient Joseph smith needed...
